1 loaf | Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed |
Vegetable oil for frying | |
Plastic or metal straw | |
Powdered sugar |
Lightly grease a large sheet pan; set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll thawed loaf of Bridgford Ready-Dough® into a 9 x 12-inch rectangle. Let the dough rest for a few minutes and then roll again if you find that the dough is shrinking back. With a 3-inch biscuit cutter or the top round of a drinking glass, cut 6-8 flat, round shapes from the dough. On the same floured surface, remove each dough round and roll into a 5-inch rectangle (it will be rounded on the top and bottom). Place on prepared sheet pan 2 inches apart. With the tip of the straw, cut 2 small circles for eyes and 1 for the mouth. To complete the face, pull the two ends of dough slightly to elongate the eyes and mouth to look like a ghost. Brush dough lightly with vegetable oil. Let dough rise in warm area until puffy (about 30 minutes). Heat oil to 375°F. Pick up one ghost and pull top and bottom again slightly to elongate again, into the ghost-like shape. Carefully place in hot oil and fry each side until golden. Remove from oil to drain on paper towels. Continue with remaining dough pieces. Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
