1 loaf | Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed |
1 | medium size Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and finely diced (about 2 cups) |
¼ cup | granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon | cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon | nutmeg |
¼ cup | melted butter |
Lightly grease 4 mini loaf pans; set aside. In a medium bowl, combine sugar and spice. Add apples and stir until apple pieces are coated; set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll thawed dough to a 16 x 8-inch rectangle. Brush dough evenly with 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Top butter with apple mixture. Spread apples to make an even layer. With palms of hands, gently press apple mixture into dough. With a sharp knife, cut dough into three long strips (16-inch direction). Stack strips so that they are evenly placed on top of one another. Slice this width-wise into 8 equal slices to make 8 squared stacks. Place 2 stacks, slice side up, on its side in prepared loaf pan. Repeat with remaining stacks. Let rise until double in size. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool in pan.
